Compact Programmable AC Power for Test and Development

The KIKUSUI PCR-MA Series combines programmable single-phase AC and DC output with a compact PWM inverter design for bench testing, development, service, production, and automated test systems.

Four models provide AC output capacities from 500 VA to 4 kVA. In AC mode, the output can be programmed across 155 V and 310 V ranges with a frequency range from 40 Hz to 500 Hz. DC and AC+DC operation are also available for applications requiring programmable DC voltage or AC voltage with a DC component.

500 VA to 4 kVA Four single-phase models support different test-system power requirements.
40 Hz to 500 Hz Programmable AC frequency supports testing across a broad range of power conditions.
AC and DC Output Supports AC, DC, and command-controlled AC+DC output modes.
LAN + USB Standard LXI-compatible LAN and USB interfaces support remote control and automated testing.

Built-in voltage, current, and power measurement, remote sensing, memory functions, and optional GPIB or analog control provide a practical platform for both standalone bench use and computer-controlled test environments.

Programmable AC Output to 310 V

Two AC output ranges provide rated output from 0 V to 155 V or 0 V to 310 V, with programmable frequency from 40 Hz to 500 Hz.

AC, DC, and AC+DC Operation

The PCR-MA supports AC and DC operation. AC+DC mode can superimpose DC voltage on AC voltage and is controlled through communication commands.

High Peak Current Capability

Maximum peak current of up to three times the rated maximum RMS current is available for capacitor-input rectifier loads within the specified conditions.

Built-In Output Measurement

Measure AC and DC output voltage, current, and power. Digital control also provides measurement of apparent power, reactive power, power factor, and peak-hold current.

Remote Sensing

Remote sensing compensates for voltage drop in load wiring to improve voltage regulation at the connected equipment.

LAN and USB Standard

Standard LXI-compatible LAN and USB interfaces support remote control, monitoring, and integration with automated test systems. GPIB is available with the optional IB22 interface board.

Output Setting Memory

Up to three sets of output voltage, frequency, and limit settings can be stored from the front panel, with additional settings available through communication commands.

Compact PWM Inverter Design

The PCR500MA measures 214 mm wide × 124 mm high × 350 mm deep and weighs approximately 6.5 kg, providing a compact configuration for bench and system applications.

Control, Measurement and Automated Testing

The PCR-MA Series combines programmable output control with built-in measurement and standard digital interfaces for computer-controlled power-source applications.

AC mode provides programmable voltage and frequency control, while DC mode provides bipolar DC voltage output. AC+DC operation is available through communication commands for applications requiring an AC waveform with a DC component.

Output Measurement Measures voltage, current, and active power for AC and DC output.
LAN / LXI Remote control and monitoring through the standard Ethernet interface.
USB Standard USBTMC-USB488 support enables computer-controlled test integration.
GPIB Option The optional IB22 interface board supports IEEE 488 control.

An optional EX08-PCR-MA analog interface board adds EXT-AC and EXT-DC control modes. Sequence control using Wavy for PCR-M is also possible through the PCR-M compatibility mode on supported PCR-MA firmware, subject to compatibility limitations.
