KIKUSUI PAV Series Compact Programmable DC Power Supply

The KIKUSUI PAV Series combines compact 2U construction, programmable CV/CC output, built-in sequence capability, and system-control interfaces for bench-top and automated DC power testing.

The series covers four power classes—200 W, 400 W, 600 W, and 800 W—and eight voltage classes from 10 V to 650 V. This creates a broad model selection ranging from low-voltage/high-current configurations through high-voltage/lower-current configurations while maintaining a common compact chassis format.
200 W to 800 W Four output power classes for bench and system applications
10 V to 650 V Eight voltage classes for application-specific model selection
Built-In Sequence Embedded CPU supports hardware sequence operation
Up to 6 Units Master-slave parallel operation for increased output current
USB, RS232C, and RS485 communication interfaces are integrated as standard, while LAN-equipped versions are available as an option. Analog programming, remote sensing, synchronized operation, series operation, and rack-mount accessories support integration into automated and multi-channel test systems.

Compact 2U Design

All PAV models use a compact chassis approximately 2U high, providing high power density for bench-top use while maintaining a common form factor across the series.

Extensive Model Selection

Four output classes and eight voltage classes provide 32 base model combinations, covering outputs from 10 V to 650 V and currents up to 72 A depending on the selected model.

CV / CC Regulation

The PAV Series operates as a constant-voltage and constant-current regulated DC power supply for controlled DC device and component testing.

Built-In Hardware Sequence

An embedded CPU provides hardware sequence capability with up to 12 steps for programmable CV/CC output profiles.

Wavy Software Support

Optional Wavy for PAV software supports software sequences with up to 1024 steps for more complex automated voltage and current profiles.

Standard Digital Interfaces

USB, RS232C, and RS485 are integrated as standard. RS485-based configurations can support control of multiple PAV power supplies.

Optional LAN Models

LAN-equipped versions are available as factory-option configurations for applications requiring network-based communication.

Analog Programming and Monitoring

Output voltage and current can be controlled using external voltage or resistance, with voltage/current monitoring and CV/CC status outputs available through the analog-control interface.

Master-Slave Parallel Operation

Up to six PAV units of the same rating can be connected in parallel to increase available output current.

Series Operation

Two PAV units of the same rating can be connected in series to increase output voltage, subject to the specified system-voltage limits.

Synchronized Multi-Unit Operation

Trigger input and output connections allow synchronized operation across multiple PAV units for coordinated test-system control.

Protection Functions

Protection functions include overvoltage protection, undervoltage protection and limit functions, overtemperature protection, and configurable foldback protection.

PAV vs. PWX: Selecting the Right KIKUSUI DC Power Supply

The PAV and PWX Series are both programmable switching DC power supplies, but they are optimized for different system requirements.

PAV SeriesCompact 2U bench-top platform with 200 W to 800 W power classes, eight voltage classes, and built-in hardware sequencing
PWX Series1U rack-oriented wide-range platform with 750 W and 1500 W output classes
Choose the PAV Series when compact bench-top size, detailed voltage/current model selection, built-in sequence operation, RS485 control, or up to six-unit parallel expansion is required.Choose the PWX Series when higher single-unit power, 1U rack density, and wide-range voltage/current operation within the rated power envelope are the primary requirements.
