KIKUSUI PWX Series Wide Range Programmable DC Power Supply

The KIKUSUI PWX Series is a compact programmable CV/CC DC power supply designed for high-density rack integration, automated testing, and network-based power supply control.

The series includes 750 W and 1500 W power classes with 30 V, 80 V, 230 V, and 650 V output ranges. Its wide-range output characteristic allows a broad combination of voltage and current settings within the rated output power, reducing the number of fixed-range power supplies required to cover different DUT conditions.

Full-width PWX models use a 19-inch rack-width, 1U-height chassis with front-to-rear cooling, allowing units to be mounted closely together in rack systems. LAN connectivity, the Virtual Multi-Channel Bus (VMCB) function, analog control, master-slave parallel operation, protection functions, and optional sequence software support integration into larger automated test platforms.

Wide-Range CV/CC Output

PWX models provide a broad combination of voltage and current settings within their 750 W or 1500 W rated output power, enabling one unit to cover operating points that would otherwise require multiple single-range power supplies.

1U Rack-Optimized Design

Full-width PWX models use a 19-inch rack-width chassis approximately 43 mm high. Front-to-rear forced-air cooling supports high-density rack installation without requiring vertical ventilation clearance between adjacent units.

Standard LAN / USB / RS232C

LAN, USB, and RS232C interfaces are provided as standard for computer-controlled and automated test systems. LAN operation is LXI compliant and includes access through the built-in web server.

Virtual Multi-Channel Bus

KIKUSUI's VMCB function supports network-based control and monitoring of multiple PWX units, including mixed-model virtual groups for larger automated systems.

Master-Slave Parallel Operation

Up to four identical PWX units, including the master, can be connected in parallel to increase available output current and total system power.

Series Operation

Up to two identical units can be connected in series to increase output voltage. Series operation is not supported by the PWX750HF or PWX1500H.

Analog External Control

Output voltage and current can be controlled through external voltage or resistance. The rear-panel interface also provides output on/off, shutdown, alarm-clear, voltage/current monitoring, and status signals.

Battery-Oriented Output Control

A configurable bleeder circuit helps manage battery-connected applications. KIKUSUI also documents operation that can eliminate the need for an external reverse-current prevention diode in certain battery-charging configurations.

CC / CV Priority at Output Start

CC-priority or CV-priority behavior can be selected when the output is turned on, helping control overshoot during startup.

Preset Memory

Up to three combinations of voltage, current, OVP, OCP, and UVL settings can be saved and recalled from the front panel.

Optional Sequence Control

Wavy for PWX software supports creation and execution of programmed voltage and current sequences, monitoring, logging, and control of PWX units without requiring users to create their own control program.

Comprehensive Protection

Protection functions include OVP, OVP2, OCP, UVL, overtemperature, fan failure, sensing-error, low-AC-input, shutdown, power-limit, and communication-watchdog protection.

Maximum output voltage and maximum output current cannot be supplied simultaneously when their product exceeds the rated output power. Available voltage/current combinations are determined by the PWX wide-range output operating area.
