Automated Ground Bond Testing with Constant-Current Control

The KIKUSUI TOS6200A is a dedicated ground bond tester designed for protective-earth continuity testing of Class I electrical equipment and for integration into repetitive production and inspection processes.

The tester applies AC test current using a constant-current method, helping maintain the specified test current even when the resistance of the device under test changes. It supports a nominal ground bond test-current range of 3 A to 30 A and measures resistance from 0.001 Ω to 1.200 Ω.

3–30 A AC Ground bond test-current range
0.001–1.200 Ω Ground bond resistance measurement
0.3 s Minimum programmable test time
100 Memories Stored test conditions for repeatable testing

Resistance or sampled voltage drop can be used for PASS/FAIL judgment. Standard GPIB and RS232C interfaces, programmable test conditions, contact checking, and external control capabilities support automated test stations and production-line safety inspection.

3–30 A AC Ground Bond Testing

The TOS6200A is designed for protective-earth continuity testing at AC test currents from 3 A to 30 A. Its internal current-setting range extends from 3.0 A to 31.0 A under the specified output-power and terminal-voltage limits.

Constant-Current Test Method

The tester regulates the ground bond test current using a constant-current method, reducing the need to readjust the programmed current when DUT resistance varies during testing.

Resistance or Voltage-Drop Judgment

PASS/FAIL evaluation can be based on measured resistance or sampled voltage drop using upper and lower limits for the selected judgment method.

Offset Cancellation

Offset cancellation can compensate for resistance or voltage drop associated with test leads and connections before evaluating the device under test.

100 Test-Condition Memories

Up to 100 sets of test conditions can be stored and recalled, supporting repeatable setups for different products, destinations, or test requirements.

Programmable Automatic Testing

Stored test conditions can be incorporated into programs for sequential automatic execution, supporting repetitive production and inspection workflows.

Contact Check Function

The built-in contact check function helps confirm the current path before or during automated ground bond test operation.

Standard GPIB and RS232C

Both interfaces are standard and support remote control of test current, judgment values, and test duration as well as read-back of measured values and test results.

Ground Bond Measurement and Production Automation

The TOS6200A combines constant-current earth-continuity testing with resistance and voltage-drop measurement functions for repeatable electrical safety inspection.

Ground bond tests can be evaluated using either resistance limits or sampled voltage-drop limits. Offset cancellation can compensate for the resistance or voltage drop of the test leads and fixture connections before judgment is applied to the device under test.

Constant Current Maintains the programmed test-current condition as DUT resistance varies
Offset Cancel Compensates for test-lead and connection effects
100 Memories Store reusable ground bond test conditions
GPIB / RS232C Standard control and result read-back interfaces

Test conditions stored in memory can be incorporated into automatic test programs. Combined with SIGNAL I/O and standard computer interfaces, this supports integration into manufacturing and quality-control test stations.
