High-Power, Wide-Range Programmable DC Output

The KIKUSUI PXT Series combines 20 kW of DC output power, wide-range voltage/current operation, programmable control, and system-level scalability in a compact 3U platform.

The series includes 500 V, 1000 V, and 1500 V models, allowing the output configuration to be selected according to the voltage and current requirements of the test system. Its wide-range architecture provides a broader combination of voltage and current operating points than a conventional single-range power supply.

20 kW Rated output power per unit
Up to 1500 V Maximum rated output voltage
3U Compact high-power chassis
Up to 500 kW 25-unit parallel expansion

The PXT Series supports CV, CC, and CP operating modes, sequence programming, variable internal resistance, programmable I-V characteristics, remote control, and master-slave parallel operation. It can be used as a stand-alone high-power DC source or integrated into automated test equipment and larger DC power systems.

20 kW Output in a 3U Chassis

Each PXT model delivers 20 kW of rated DC output from a compact 3U enclosure, supporting high-power test systems where rack space is limited.

Wide-Range Output Architecture

The wide-range design supports a broad combination of voltage and current operating points within the 20 kW power envelope, reducing the need for multiple fixed-range DC supplies.

CV, CC and CP Operating Modes

Constant-voltage, constant-current, and constant-power priority modes are available, allowing operation to be matched to different load and test requirements.

Programmable Sequence Operation

Up to 30 programs can be created with a combined maximum of 10,000 sequence steps, enabling repeatable programmable DC output profiles without continuous external control.

Variable Internal Resistance

The internal resistance function varies output voltage according to output current during CV operation, supporting simplified simulation of characteristics such as battery or wiring resistance.

Programmable I-V Characteristics

Register between 3 and 100 arbitrary I-V points to define custom characteristics for CC or CV operation, including simplified simulation of rechargeable-battery I-V behavior.

Integrated Digital and Analog Control

LAN, USB and RS232C are standard, together with isolated external analog control and configurable digital I/O for integration with PLCs and automated test equipment.

Scalable to 500 kW

Master-slave parallel operation supports up to 25 units of the same model for a maximum system capacity of 500 kW, with control and monitoring from the master unit.

Selectable Output Response

FAST and SLOW response settings and selectable voltage and current slew rates allow the output behavior to be adapted to the connected load and test conditions.

Bleeder ON/OFF Control

The bleeder function can accelerate output-voltage decay after output is turned off, or be disabled when unnecessary discharge from a connected battery should be minimized.

Protection and Communication Monitoring

Protection functions include OVP, UVP, OCP, OPP, watchdog communication protection, and external alarm detection for system-level operation.

Continuous Operation up to 50°C

The thermal design supports full-load continuous operation at ambient temperatures up to 50°C for demanding equipment-integration environments.

Rated voltage and rated current cannot necessarily be used simultaneously at their maximum values; output combinations are limited by the 20 kW rated output power.

Programmable Control and System Integration

PXT Series power supplies support local, remote, and multi-unit control for automated high-power DC test systems.

Sequence operation enables predefined output actions to run directly from the power supply. Up to 30 programs can be stored with a combined maximum of 10,000 steps, and stored programs can be exported to USB memory.

25 Units Master-slave power expansion

Virtual Multichannel Bus (VMCB) can also group and coordinate multiple PXT units for networked remote control and monitoring. VMCB grouping is a control architecture and should not be confused with electrical parallel operation. Electrical parallel operation uses same-model PXT units and supports up to 25 units for a maximum system capacity of 500 kW.
