KIKUSUI PWR-01 Series Compact Wide-Range DC Power Supply

The KIKUSUI PWR-01 Series combines compact construction with wide-range CV/CC output for laboratory, production, and automated DC power applications.

Four output power classes—400 W, 800 W, 1200 W, and 2000 W—are available across 40 V, 80 V, 240 V, and 650 V model families. Within each model's rated output power, a broad range of voltage and current combinations can be used, allowing one PWR-01 unit to cover operating conditions that may otherwise require multiple conventional fixed-range power supplies.

400 W to 2000 W Four power classes for bench and system applications
40 V to 650 V Four voltage classes with output current up to 200 A
Wide-Range Output Broad voltage/current combinations within rated output power
LAN / LXI Standard LAN, USB, and RS232C interfaces for automated system integration

Built-in sequence operation, synchronized triggering, the Virtual Multi-Channel Bus (VMCB), variable internal resistance, external analog control, universal AC input, and master-slave parallel operation extend the PWR-01 Series from general bench use into programmable multi-channel test and simulation systems.

Compact Wide-Range Output

A broad range of voltage and current settings can be combined within the rated output power, providing approximately three to four times the voltage/current operating range of a conventional fixed-range supply.

16-Model Selection

Four power classes from 400 W to 2000 W combine with 40 V, 80 V, 240 V, and 650 V output classes, with maximum rated current ranging up to 200 A.

CV / CC Regulation

Constant-voltage and constant-current operation provides controlled DC output across the PWR-01 wide-range operating area.

Built-In 64-Step Sequence

One sequence program with up to 64 steps can be stored in the power supply. After programming through remote commands, the stored sequence can be executed without a connected PC.

Variable Internal Resistance

In CV operation, the output voltage can be reduced according to output current and a programmed resistance value, enabling simple simulation of the internal resistance of rechargeable batteries, solar cells, and fuel cells.

LAN / LXI, USB, and RS232C

LAN with LXI support, USB, and RS232C are standard interfaces, supporting SCPI-based integration into automated test and production systems.

Virtual Multi-Channel Bus

The VMCB function enables efficient centralized control of multiple PWR-01 units through a master connection to the host system and LAN connections between units.

Synchronized Operation

Trigger input and output can synchronize voltage/current setting changes and sequence execution across multiple PWR-01 models, including mixed power classes.

Master-Slave Parallel Expansion

Identical 400 W and 800 W models support up to three units including the master, while 1200 W and 2000 W models support up to two units.

Series Operation

Two identical PWR-01 units can be connected in series where supported. Series operation is not available for H-type 650 V models.

Universal AC Input

An 85 Vac to 265 Vac input range supports operation without manual AC-input voltage switching.

External Analog Control

Output voltage and current can be programmed using external analog voltage, with additional output ON/OFF, shutdown, alarm-clear, monitoring, and status functions.

The maximum rated voltage and maximum rated current are not available simultaneously when their product exceeds the model's rated output power. Select a model based on the required operating point within its wide-range power envelope.

Selecting a PWR-01 Model

Select the PWR-01 model by combining the required output-power class with the voltage and current range needed at the DUT operating point.

L — 40 V Highest-current models, up to 200 A
ML — 80 V Mid-voltage models with up to 100 A output
MH — 240 V Higher-voltage models with up to 25 A output
H — 650 V Highest-voltage models with up to 9.25 A output

After choosing the required voltage class, select the 400 W, 800 W, 1200 W, or 2000 W model according to the required operating point within the rated power envelope. Maximum voltage and maximum current values should not be multiplied to determine usable output power.
