Multi-Standard Wireless Production Testing in One Modular Platform

The Anritsu MT8870A Universal Wireless Test Set is designed for efficient non-signalling RF testing of multi-standard wireless devices on high-volume manufacturing lines.

Up to four TRX test modules can be installed in one MT8870A mainframe, allowing test resources to be configured around the wireless technologies, production capacity, and DUT architecture required for each manufacturing line. Supported applications include 5G NR Sub-6 GHz, LTE/LTE-Advanced, LTE-V2X, NB-IoT, Cat-M, WLAN, Bluetooth, and additional cellular and connectivity technologies depending on the installed module, frequency option, measurement software, and waveform licenses.

Up to Four Parallel Test Units Install up to four independently controlled test modules to support parallel RF testing and higher production-line utilization.
5G, LTE, V2X, WLAN & Bluetooth Use one configurable platform for multiple cellular and connectivity technologies instead of separate single-standard testers.
Built-In VSG and VSA Each TRX test module incorporates signal-generation and signal-analysis functions for transmitter and receiver RF testing.
Up to 200 MHz Bandwidth MU887002A provides 200 MHz analysis and modulation bandwidth, while MU887000A and MU887001A provide 160 MHz.

The modular architecture also supports production optimization methods including sequence measurements, multi-standard measurement workflows, and software-controlled DUT scheduling. MU887002A extends the platform for high-density multi-antenna devices with two TRX test sections and 12 RF test ports per TRX section.

Parallel Multi-Device Production Testing

Up to four test modules can be installed in one MT8870A mainframe. With the applicable configuration, up to four DUTs can be measured simultaneously to increase manufacturing-line utilization and throughput.

Multi-Standard Wireless Test Platform

Configure the system for 5G NR Sub-6 GHz, LTE/LTE-Advanced, LTE-V2X, NB-IoT, Cat-M, WLAN, Bluetooth, and additional supported wireless technologies using the required measurement software and waveform licenses.

5G NR Sub-6 GHz Testing

Supports non-signalling RF transmitter and receiver testing for 5G NR Sub-6 GHz, including FDD and TDD configurations and applicable EN-DC measurement functions when the required software is installed.

Built-In Vector Signal Generator and Analyzer

Each TRX test module incorporates signal-generation and signal-analysis hardware for Tx measurements such as power and modulation quality and Rx testing using generated downlink waveforms.

160 MHz or 200 MHz Measurement Bandwidth

MU887000A and MU887001A provide 160 MHz bandwidth, while MU887002A provides 200 MHz bandwidth for wider-band 5G NR and WLAN production-test applications.

Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 Test Capability

WLAN measurement software supports standards through IEEE 802.11ax. MU887002A adds IEEE 802.11be support, and the MU887002A-007 hardware option extends applicable RF ports to 7.3 GHz for 6 GHz-band testing.

High-Density Multi-Antenna Connectivity

MU887002A incorporates two independently controlled TRX sections with 12 RF test ports per section, reducing the need for external RF switching or divider hardware in multi-antenna production setups.

Non-Signalling Sequence Measurement

Preset measurement sequences execute multiple RF test conditions without repeatedly issuing individual remote-control commands, helping reduce line tact time.

Multi-DUT Measurement Scheduling

Optional MX887090A Multi-DUT Measurement Scheduler manages measurement software and hardware resources to improve test-unit utilization across production workflows.

Production Automation Interfaces

Ethernet-based remote control is supported, with optional GPIB available for applicable configurations. Anritsu also provides remote-command examples, CombiView PC software, and programming resources for production-system integration.

Wireless-standard support is determined by the installed TRX test module, hardware frequency options, TX measurement software, and RX waveform licenses. Individual capabilities should therefore be configured by application rather than assumed to be standard on every MT8870A.
