Dedicated Bluetooth RF Testing from Design to Production

The Anritsu MT8852B Bluetooth Test Set provides dedicated transmitter and receiver measurements for Bluetooth Basic Rate, Enhanced Data Rate and Bluetooth Low Energy devices.

Built for Bluetooth RF development and manufacturing environments, the MT8852B measures parameters including transmit power, modulation characteristics, carrier-frequency error and drift, BER/PER, and receiver sensitivity. Current Anritsu documentation states compliance with Bluetooth Core Specification v6.0, with Low Energy and advanced LE PHY functions depending on the installed configuration and options.

BR / EDR / LE Testing Dedicated Bluetooth RF measurement coverage with configuration-dependent Low Energy support.
Bluetooth Core v6.0 Current Anritsu measurement specifications are aligned with Bluetooth Core Specification v6.0.
Automated RF Test Scripts Run preconfigured Bluetooth RF measurements rapidly for repeatable design and production testing.
2.4 to 2.5 GHz RF System Integrated signal generation and measurement optimized for the Bluetooth frequency band.

The MT8852B can control Bluetooth test devices through HCI and Low Energy control interfaces and provides GPIB and RS232 instrument control for integration into automated test systems. Optional functions extend the platform to LE 2M PHY, LE Coded PHY, direction-finding measurements, Adaptive Frequency Hopping evaluation and other Bluetooth test requirements.

Bluetooth BR, EDR and LE RF Testing

Measure Bluetooth Basic Rate and Enhanced Data Rate signals, with Bluetooth Low Energy measurement support available through the applicable configuration and options.

Bluetooth Core Specification v6.0

Current Anritsu documentation specifies measurements in compliance with Bluetooth Core Specification v6.0 and the applicable Bluetooth RF Test Specifications.

Transmitter Power Measurement

Evaluate average and peak RF output power, power control behavior and related transmitter characteristics required for Bluetooth RF verification.

Modulation and Frequency Analysis

Measure GFSK modulation characteristics, carrier-frequency tolerance and drift as well as EDR carrier stability and DEVM using π/4DQPSK and 8DPSK signals.

Receiver Sensitivity Testing

Generate Bluetooth wanted and dirty-transmitter signals for BER, FER and PER-based receiver testing, with output levels down to -90 dBm.

Fast Script-Based Testing

A single measurement script can execute multiple Bluetooth RF tests automatically. Anritsu states that configured device testing can be completed in less than 10 seconds.

LE 2M and LE Coded PHY Options

Applicable options extend Low Energy testing to the LE 2M PHY and LE Coded PHY used for higher-speed and long-range Bluetooth Low Energy applications.

AoA / AoD Direction-Finding Test Option

An optional Angle of Arrival / Angle of Departure function supports RF testing associated with Bluetooth direction-finding implementations.

Adaptive Frequency Hopping Evaluation

The optional AFH function displays active-channel and frame-error-rate behavior for investigating Bluetooth frequency-hopping performance and coexistence conditions.

Production Automation Interfaces

Standard GPIB and RS232 remote control plus UART/RS232 HCI, USB HCI and Low Energy 2-Wire EUT control support integration into repeatable automated test workflows.

Audio Testing

Applicable audio-equipped configurations support three SCO audio channels with CVSD, A-Law and µ-Law codec air interfaces.

BlueSuite Pro3 Analysis Software

Optional BlueSuite Pro3 software provides graphical views of modulation, power ramp, channel measurements and receiver-sensitivity search results.
