MS46522B ShockLine VNA is 2-Port RF and Microwave VNA for R&D and Production Test

The Anritsu ShockLine MS46522B is a 2-port performance vector network analyzer designed for accurate and efficient S-parameter characterization of passive RF and microwave devices in engineering and production environments.

Broadband configurations span 50 kHz to 8.5 GHz, 20 GHz, or 43.5 GHz, while dedicated tethered E-band configurations cover 55 GHz to 92 GHz. This range of configurations allows the MS46522B platform to address component characterization, cable and interconnect testing, filters, automotive radar-related devices, 5G mmWave components, and system integration measurements.

2-Port S-Parameter Analysis Measure forward and reverse transmission and reflection characteristics including S11, S21, S12, and S22.
50 kHz to 92 GHz Configurations Select broadband RF/microwave configurations through 43.5 GHz or dedicated 55 GHz to 92 GHz E-band configurations.
Production-Oriented Performance Fast sweep speed, wide dynamic range, and variable test-port power support demanding passive-device measurement and automated production workflows.
Time-Domain and De-Embedding Options Optional time-domain analysis, time gating, Advanced Time Domain, and Universal Fixture Extraction extend the platform beyond basic frequency-domain measurements.

The MS46522B integrates its computer and power supply in a compact 3U chassis and uses LAN connectivity, a common ShockLine GUI, SCPI commands, software drivers, and programming environments for integration into automated test systems.

Complete 2-Port S-Parameter Measurement

Characterize transmission and reflection behavior using S11, S21, S12, and S22 measurements for RF and microwave components, cables, interconnects, and other two-port devices.

Broadband Coverage to 43.5 GHz

Choose 50 kHz to 8.5 GHz, 20 GHz, or 43.5 GHz frequency configurations for RF and microwave device characterization. The 43.5 GHz configuration uses Extended K test ports.

Dedicated E-Band Testing to 92 GHz

Options 82 and 83 provide 55 GHz to 92 GHz measurement coverage with WR-12 interfaces and tethered source/measurement modules for E-band and millimeter-wave applications.

High Dynamic Range

Broadband configurations provide up to at least 140 dB specified system dynamic range in applicable lower-frequency bands, supporting measurement of high-loss devices and low-level transmission responses.

Variable Test-Port Power

Broadband configurations provide adjustable test-port power over a wide range, allowing stimulus levels to be optimized for different devices and measurement conditions.

Fast Measurement Speed

Typical measurement speed of 30 microseconds per point at the widest IF bandwidth supports high-throughput engineering and production measurements.

Time Domain with Time Gating

Option 002 adds time-domain analysis and time gating for locating discontinuities and separating unwanted responses from the measurement.

Advanced Signal Integrity Tools

Option 022 Advanced Time Domain provides file-based signal-integrity analysis tools, while Option 024 Universal Fixture Extraction supports fixture de-embedding workflows.

SmartCal and Flexible Calibration Methods

Support for SmartCal and other established VNA calibration methods helps reduce setup time and move the measurement reference plane to the required DUT interface.

LAN and SCPI Automation

LAN remote control, SCPI command programming, software drivers, and a common ShockLine software environment simplify integration into automated production and engineering test systems.
