The KIKUSUI PLZ-5W Series is a programmable DC electronic load for dynamic testing of DC power supplies, converters, batteries, automotive electronics, and other DC devices. Three models provide 200 W, 400 W, or 1200 W load capacity with an operating voltage range of 0.25 V to 150 V.

The series consists of the PLZ205W, PLZ405W, and PLZ1205W, providing rated load capacities from 200 W to 1200 W and rated currents from 40 A to 240 A. All three models support an operating voltage range of 0.25 V to 150 V for testing both low-voltage and higher-voltage DC devices.
For transient testing, the PLZ-5W provides adjustable slew-rate control, switching operation up to 100 kHz in CC and CR modes, and programmable sequences of up to 10,000 steps. Built-in voltage, current, power, integrated current, and integrated power measurement support automated characterization and discharge testing without requiring separate instruments for basic load measurements.
Supports constant current (CC), constant resistance (CR), constant voltage (CV), constant power (CP), and arbitrary I-V characteristic (ARB) operation for a wide range of DC device evaluation requirements.
Adjustable current slew rate supports transient-response testing. Maximum H-range slew rates are 10 A/μs for the PLZ205W, 20 A/μs for the PLZ405W, and 60 A/μs for the PLZ1205W.
Switching operation is available in CC and CR modes from 1 Hz to 100 kHz, allowing repetitive load changes for dynamic power-supply and device testing.
Create up to 30 programs with a combined maximum of 10,000 steps. Step execution time ranges from 25 μs to 1000 hours for automated load profiles and long-duration testing.
The PLZ-5W measures voltage, current, and power and can track integrated current and integrated power from load-on to load-off. An auto load-off timer supports controlled discharge testing.
LAN, USB, and RS232C interfaces are standard for remote control and automated test systems. GPIB connectivity is available through an optional converter.
