SVO-03-MIPI MIPI CSI-2 Generator & Camera Emulator

The NetVision SVO-03-MIPI is a MIPI CSI-2 generator that converts video from USB 3.0 or HDMI into configurable camera signals for ECU, image-processor, and embedded vision development.

Recorded video and computer-generated images from a Windows PC can be reproduced as MIPI CSI-2 output, allowing engineers to emulate a camera or CMOS image sensor without requiring the actual sensor hardware. HDMI can also be used as a live video input with configurable EDID and MIPI output timing.

MIPI output timing can be adjusted at the pixel-clock level, including blanking periods. The board also supports configurable lane count, pixel formats, I2C, GPIO, FrameSYNC, and optional Virtual Channel and Embedded Line functions.

The SVO-03-MIPI can be combined with compatible NetVision serializer boards to create automotive camera and SerDes evaluation environments using interfaces such as FPD-Link III, GMSL, and GVIF.

MIPI CSI-2 Camera Emulation

Converts recorded or computer-generated video into MIPI CSI-2 signals, allowing ECUs and image-processing devices to be developed without the target camera or CMOS image sensor.

USB 3.0 & HDMI Video Input

Accepts video through USB 3.0 from a Windows PC or through HDMI at up to 1080p and 60 fps for flexible camera-simulation workflows.

Configurable MIPI CSI-2 Output

Supports one to four MIPI data lanes with lane rates from 100 to 950 Mbps and total output bandwidth up to 4.0 Gbps.

Adjustable Video Timing

Allows MIPI output timing to be configured at the pixel-clock level, including blanking intervals, to reproduce different camera-output conditions.

RAW & Multi-Format Output

Supports YUV422, RGB24, RAW8, RAW10, RAW12, RAW16, RAW20, and RAW24 video formats for camera and image-processing evaluation.

HDMI EDID Configuration

When HDMI is used as the video source, EDID settings and MIPI output timing can be configured for the required input and target-device environment.

Frame Synchronization

Supports Frame Start and Frame End synchronization together with FrameSYNC output for synchronized operation using multiple boards.

I2C & GPIO Control

Provides one 100 kHz I2C interface and 16-bit GPIO with individually configurable input and output direction for target-device control.

Automotive SerDes Integration

Supports compatible NetVision serializer boards for FPD-Link III, GMSL, GVIF, and related automotive camera-interface evaluation.

Continuous & Non-Continuous Clock

Supports both Continuous Clock and Non-Continuous Clock operation for compatibility with different MIPI CSI-2 target configurations.
