GW5 Automotive Camera ISP Development Board

The NetVision GW5 Board is an automotive camera ISP development platform based on the indie Semiconductor GW5 series Camera Video Processor, designed for rapid prototyping and evaluation of advanced camera-processing systems.

The board supports image-processing functions including High Dynamic Range (HDR), lens-distortion correction, and RAW-to-YUV conversion. It can also capture MIPI embedded data together with video for camera-system development and validation.

Dual MIPI CSI-2 Input Two 4-lane camera inputs at up to 1.5 Gbps per lane
RAW → YUV ISP Automotive image processing using the indie GW5 platform
MIPI + Parallel Output Dual MIPI CSI-2 output plus 16-bit parallel video output
Automotive SerDes Integrates with NetVision deserializer boards for vehicle cameras

The GW5 Board provides an ISP-control interface compatible with indie evaluation-board workflows, allowing ISP configuration and firmware updates using indie tools through an onboard FTDI FT4222 interface.

By combining the board with NetVision deserializer and monitoring boards, engineers can evaluate automotive cameras using FPD-Link III, GMSL, and GVIF interfaces and route processed video to USB, HDMI, or DisplayPort monitoring environments.

indie Semiconductor GW5 ISP

Supports GW5-series Camera Video Processor configurations for automotive camera image processing and ISP development.

HDR Image Processing

Supports High Dynamic Range image-processing workflows for automotive cameras operating across challenging lighting conditions.

Lens-Distortion Correction

Uses GW5 image-processing capabilities for correcting lens distortion in wide-angle and automotive camera applications.

RAW-to-YUV Conversion

Processes RAW camera input through the GW5 ISP and outputs converted YUV video for downstream monitoring and evaluation.

Dual MIPI CSI-2 Input

Provides two MIPI CSI-2 camera inputs, each supporting four data lanes at up to 1.5 Gbps per lane.

MIPI CSI-2 & Parallel Output

Supports dual MIPI CSI-2 output as well as one 16-bit parallel output for integration with different monitoring-board configurations.

RAW & YUV Dual-Stream Output

Two internal video-stream slots allow configurations that output original RAW video and ISP-processed YUV video in parallel workflows.

MIPI Virtual Channel Output

RAW and processed YUV streams can be assigned to different MIPI Virtual Channels for simultaneous downstream monitoring.

indie Tool Compatibility

The ISP-control interface is compatible with indie evaluation-board workflows for ISP settings, image-quality adjustment, and firmware updates.

Automotive SerDes Integration

Combines with NetVision deserializer boards to support automotive camera interfaces including FPD-Link III, GMSL, and GVIF.

Availability: The GW5 Board is listed by NetVision as a made-to-order automotive ISP product. Configuration and availability may depend on the required GW5 ISP and camera interface. Discuss your application with Denkei Americas →
