Compact 800 W Wide-Range DC Power for High-Current Testing

The KIKUSUI PWR801L is a compact programmable CV/CC DC power supply combining a 40 V voltage range, up to 80 A current capability, and 800 W rated output power.

Unlike a conventional fixed-range supply, the PWR801L uses a wide-range power-type operating area that allows different voltage and current combinations within its 800 W output-power rating. This provides greater flexibility when powering devices whose voltage and current requirements vary between test conditions.

40 V / 80 A / 800 W Output

The PWR801L provides up to 40 V or 80 A within an 800 W maximum output-power envelope. Maximum voltage and maximum current cannot be delivered simultaneously when the resulting power exceeds 800 W.

Wide-Range CV/CC Operation

Constant-voltage and constant-current operation combine with the PWR-01 wide operating area to support a broader range of load conditions than a conventional fixed-range DC supply of the same power rating.

Programmable Sequence Function

One sequence program with up to 64 steps can automate voltage and current changes. Once programmed by communication commands, the stored sequence can also be executed without a continuously connected PC.

LAN, USB, and RS-232C Standard

LXI-compatible LAN, USB, and RS-232C communication are standard for remote programming, monitoring, and automated test integration.

External Analog Control

Output voltage and current can be controlled through external analog signals or resistance. External contacts also support output ON/OFF, shutdown, and alarm-clear control.

Variable Internal Resistance

In CV mode, the programmable internal-resistance function can simulate voltage drop associated with internal resistance in rechargeable batteries, solar cells, fuel cells, and similar sources.

Remote Sensing

Remote sensing compensates for voltage drop in high-current load wiring, with up to 1.5 V compensation per line for the PWR801L.

Comprehensive Protection

Protection functions include OVP, OCP, front-terminal overcurrent, overheat, sensing-error, low-AC-input, communication-watchdog, shutdown, and parallel-operation protection.

Wide-Range 800 W Operating Area

The PWR801L combines a 40 V maximum rated voltage and an 80 A maximum rated current within an 800 W maximum output-power envelope.

Voltage and current can therefore be combined over a broad operating region without requiring separate supplies for different voltage/current conditions. The maximum voltage and maximum current ratings should not be interpreted as a simultaneous 40 V × 80 A output condition.
