High-speed luminance colorimeter for LCD and LED evaluation. Measures response time, flicker, chromaticity, and luminance with 80µs speed.

U.S.-based sales, and delivery available. The RD-80SA Luminance Colorimeteris a high-speed, high-accuracy response-time and flicker measurement system designed for advanced LCD, LED backlight, and display evaluation. Featuring ultra-fast ≤80 µs analog response, the RD-80SA captures subtle temporal luminance variations, enabling precise Gray-to-Gray response-time analysis, overshoot/undershoot detection, and PWM flicker evaluation. With a measurable range of 0.1 to 10,000 cd/m² and micro flicker detection down to 0.04 cd/m², this instrument ensures accurate luminance, chromaticity, and color temperature measurement in R&D and production environments. Equipped with RS-232C, LAN connectivity, and analog BNC output, the RD-80SA integrates seamlessly into automated inspection systems, making it ideal for display manufacturers, lighting developers, and optical research applications.
■ High Sensitivity and Fast Response (≤ 80 µs) Captures rapid temporal variations in light output with high resolution. Accurately evaluates effects of PWM driving and backlight control. Supports both physical response measurement and perception-based response evaluation. ■ Micro Flicker Detection Capability Detects minute flicker components as small as 0.04 cd/m². Complies with JIS and PSE standards for LED lighting flicker evaluation. ■ Simultaneous Luminance and Chromaticity Measurement Measures luminance and chromaticity concurrently, functioning as a color luminance meter. Provides rapid luminance measurements in approximately one second. ■ Stable, High-Fidelity Measurement Offers outstanding reproducibility and stability, even for low-level or fluctuating light sources. ■ Comprehensive Connectivity Equipped with RS-232C and LAN interfaces for seamless integration with automated systems. Analog BNC output enables direct waveform observation via oscilloscope or multimeter. ■ Precise Spot-Based Measurement Allows accurate targeting of specific areas on displays — ideal for TVs, monitors, and gaming screens.
■ LCD Response-Time and Flicker Evaluation Quantifies brightness variations due to drive waveforms or backlight modulation to assess motion performance and image quality. ■ LED Lighting and Backlight Flicker Analysis Evaluates luminance fluctuations caused by PWM control, improving visibility and user comfort. ■ Panel and Module Optical Output Verification Ensures uniformity and stability in production and inspection processes. ■ Optical Measurement and Response Analysis in Research and Education Enables detailed investigation of temporal light characteristics and emission behavior. ■ Integration into Display Evaluation Systems Combines flicker, response, and luminance measurement functions as a core sensor within automated inspection and test platforms.
