Impulse Winding and Partial Discharge Testing

The ECG KOKUSAI DWX-05PD combines impulse winding testing with microwave-based partial discharge detection for evaluation of coils, windings, and insulation systems.

During impulse testing, the DWX-05PD captures the winding response waveform while a narrow-band microwave antenna detects electromagnetic waves generated by partial discharge within the test coil. This allows winding waveform evaluation and partial-discharge assessment within the same test platform.

PDIV / PDEV Automatic partial-discharge voltage evaluation

Partial-discharge functions include automatic evaluation of partial discharge inception voltage (PDIV) and extinction voltage (PDEV), together with discharge-level and occurrence-probability evaluation. The manufacturer recommends installing the microwave antenna within 30 cm of the test object.

The DWX-05PD also supports master-waveform comparison, an 8.4-inch TFT color display, Parallel I/O, RS-232C, and an optional Ethernet interface for integration with inspection workflows.
