High-Resolution Handheld Optical Power Meter

The ADCMT 8230 provides high-resolution optical power measurement for the development, production, and automated testing of laser diodes, optical pickups, and optical drives.

Nine compatible optical sensors cover general-purpose, blue-violet, high-power, and three-wavelength measurement. Thin, cylindrical, and wide-area sensor configurations support optical pickups, confined measurement locations, optical benches, fibers, and high-NA lenses.

5½-Digit Display High-resolution optical power measurement in W, dBm, or dBr
0.001 dB Resolution Precise relative optical power measurement
Nine Sensor Options General-purpose, blue-violet, high-power, and three-wavelength sensors
405 / 650 / 780 nm Supports Blu-ray Disc, DVD, and CD laser measurement

Blue-violet sensors provide a flat sensitivity characteristic around 405 nm. Three-wavelength sensors support 405 nm, 650 nm, and 780 nm laser measurements, while high-power sensors measure optical power up to 200 mW.

The standard USB interface allows direct digital data acquisition from a PC and supports automated production systems without requiring an additional GPIB interface. An analog output is also provided.

5½-Digit Optical Power Display

Provides optical power resolution down to 0.1 pW in watt display or 0.001 dB in dBm display.

Nine Compatible Optical Sensors

Select from general-purpose, blue-violet, high-power, and three-wavelength sensors in thin, cylindrical, or wide-area configurations.

405 nm Blue-Violet Measurement

Compatible 82312B and 82322B sensors provide a flat wavelength sensitivity characteristic and reduced incident-angle dependency around 405 nm.

Three-Wavelength Optical Testing

Compatible 82314B, 82314BW, and 82324B sensors support 405 nm, 650 nm, and 780 nm laser measurement for Blu-ray Disc, DVD, and CD applications.

High-Power Measurement to 200 mW

The 82313B and 82323B sensors measure high-power laser output up to 200 mW with a minimum specified beam-spot diameter of 0.1 mm.

1 nm Wavelength Correction

Automatic wavelength sensitivity correction adjusts the connected sensor response according to the wavelength setting in 1 nm increments.

USB System Integration

Standard USB connectivity supports direct PC data acquisition and simplifies integration into automated optical-device production systems.

Flexible Sensor Shapes

Thin sensors suit optical pickups and confined spaces, while cylindrical sensors support optical benches, built-in systems, and fiber-output measurement.

Wide-Area Sensor Option

The 82314BW provides a larger light-receiving area for stable measurement of emission from high-NA lenses.
