6½-Digit Precision Source for Calibration and Working-Standard Applications

The ADCMT 6166 is a high-accuracy, high-stability DC voltage/current source designed for use as a working standard in calibration laboratories, production systems, and precision electrical measurement environments.

A PWM-based reference-voltage system provides a wide bipolar source range from ±10 nV to ±1200 V for voltage and from ±1 nA to ±120 mA for current. Smooth polarity switching supports precise positive and negative source generation without changing external connections.

±1200 V Maximum high-voltage output
±120 mA Wide current-source capability
6½ Digits High-resolution programmable generation
±35 ppm/year High long-term voltage-source accuracy

The instrument provides high short-term stability of ±5 ppm over 24 hours, internal storage for up to 1,000 source settings, and programmable trigger control for automated source sequences.

A built-in thermal electromotive-force function can simulate thermocouple outputs from −220°C to +1820°C. USB and GPIB interfaces, rear output terminals, trigger input, and interlock input support both calibration benches and automated measurement systems.

Wide Bipolar Voltage Output

Generate DC voltage from ±10 nV to ±1200 V for precision calibration, characterization, and high-voltage reference applications.

Wide Current Source Range

Source current from ±1 nA to ±120 mA for precision meter calibration and electrical-device testing.

6½-Digit Generation

High-resolution source control enables use as a working standard for calibration laboratories and production inspection systems.

High Accuracy and Stability

Long-term voltage accuracy of ±35 ppm/year and stability of ±5 ppm over 24 hours support demanding reference-source applications.

Bipolar Output

Smooth positive-to-negative polarity transitions eliminate the need to reconnect output wiring for reverse-polarity testing.

Thermal EMF Simulation

Simulate JIS-compliant thermocouple signals corresponding to temperatures from −220°C to +1820°C with 0.1°C resolution.

Programmable Source Memory

Store up to 1,000 source settings and execute programmed values through external trigger control.

High-Voltage Safety Control

Trigger and interlock inputs support controlled high-voltage operation and external safety devices such as foot switches.

System Integration

Standard USB and GPIB interfaces, rear output terminals, and compatibility with legacy 6161 remote commands simplify integration into automated systems.
