XER-W83-A Xenon Weathering Tester for Controlled Accelerated Weathering

The IWASAKI XER-W83-A EYE Super Xenon Tester is a high-performance xenon arc weathering system designed for controlled accelerated evaluation of material weatherability.

A water-cooled 7.5 kW xenon arc lamp and optical filter system provide controlled irradiation for weathering tests that simulate solar exposure. The XER-W83-A supports standard-, medium-, and high-intensity irradiation modes together with temperature, humidity, spray, and dark-cycle control.

20–180 W/m² Irradiance control across three test modes
300–400 nm Measured wavelength range
ASTM D 7869 High-performance configuration supporting the standard
90%+ Irradiation uniformity

IWASAKI developed the XER-W83-A with a temperature and humidity control program and a specialized optical filter designed to provide a spectrum closer to sunlight. Fine control of irradiation, shower, temperature, and humidity conditions supports weathering evaluations with improved correlation to outdoor exposure.

A 10.4-inch touch panel supports test-condition setup and monitoring, while programmable test segments can combine irradiation, shower, and dark cycles. Optional LAN-based remote monitoring and operation are also available.

ASTM D 7869 Test Capability

A specialized optical filter and temperature/humidity control program support ASTM D 7869 weathering evaluation for transportation-equipment coating materials.

Three Irradiation Modes

Standard-, medium-, and high-intensity irradiation configurations provide control ranges from 20 to 180 W/m² over the 300–400 nm measurement range.

Sunlight-Correlated Xenon Exposure

The xenon lamp and optical filter system provides controlled spectral exposure designed to improve correlation with natural outdoor weathering.

Programmable Weathering Cycles

Irradiation, irradiation with spray, and dark-cycle segments can be combined and repeated to reproduce complex accelerated weathering test sequences.

High-Uniformity Drum Configurations

Three rotating-drum configurations support different irradiation conditions while providing 90% or higher irradiation uniformity.

10.4-Inch Touch-Panel Operation

The large touch interface simplifies test-condition setup and status monitoring, with improved data logging for test management.

Temperature and Humidity Control

Controlled temperature, humidity, irradiation, and shower conditions enable repeatable environmental exposure programs for weatherability evaluation.

Optional Remote Monitoring

An optional LAN-based remote function allows operators to monitor test progress and equipment status from a PC on the connected network.
